Bocci uses glass blowing and glass, ceramics and metal sand-casting to produce their unique, hand-crafted lights.
The 14.5 chandelier, designed in 2005, is formed from articulated cast glass hemispheres with a frosted cylindrical void that houses a low voltage or LED lamp. Individual pendants are visually quite subtle but gain tremendous strength when multiplied and clustered in large groups.
Chandeliers come in clusters of 5 pendants. The light interacts with the imperfections, rifts, bruises and bubbles of the cast glass to make a rich halo of light. Because cast glass is an organic process - hand-crafted and imperfect by nature - each piece produced is unique.
