Originally designed in 2006 by French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the Slow Chair has become a modern classic in Vitra's collection. Defined by its generously proportioned, laid-back form, the original featured a knitted mesh textile stretched over a tubular steel frame. This innovative construction gave the chair its distinctive lightness, transparency, and ergonomic comfort.

In 2025, Vitra reimagined the Slow Chair with a contemporary update, replacing the knitted mesh with a luxurious bouclé fabric stretched over the frame. With its velvety, tactile texture, the bouclé lends the chair a warm, inviting appearance and a sense of soft, enveloping comfort. Available in seven sophisticated colours, the new version retains the chair’s signature light, airy aesthetic while enhancing overall cosiness.

The chair’s cocooning shape, complete with a plush neck cushion, offers a perfect retreat for relaxation after a long day. Crafted from minimal components, the Slow Chair’s elegant, understated form fits effortlessly into a wide range of interiors. The updated design also features removable covers, improving both sustainability and longevity.

Comes with head cushion and two seat cushions. Seat cushions; 40 x 30cm in Cento 05 and 65 x 30cm in Vidar 0542.
